Queensland Floods Media Coverage

Okay Year Three... Here is the link to the media coverage of the Queensland floods we looked at today.

I know we spent time in class today discussing the idea of community. To expand some of our ideas further and to help you to develop your own Power Point presentation, Glogster or photostory for the end of unit assessment.  I thought we could blog our own PMI charts to add to the discussion.

What are the pluses, minuses and what do you find interesting about the idea of community.

Plus	Minus	Interesting
People can feel part of something and not feel lonely.	If you can’t find your ‘community’ you might feel isolated.	Maybe people could think of their own family as a community or maybe they could also include their next door neighbours.

Working Safely Online

This blog is just a friendly reminder that as we will be working with a range of ICT's in this unit we all need to remember the rules about safe and legal behaviour.

As we are looking at family and community please make sure that you do not upload any family photographs unless you have discussed this with your parents or carers and been given permission to use them. Please reference anything you upload to this blog and your Glogster.

Remember not to give away any personal information about your address or phone numbers, never put personal details anywhere people can easily access them. If you're not sure ask me or check with mum and dad, your foster parents or your guardian.

If you have had any issues or would like to ask a question about something that may have happened then post something below or ask me in class.

Diversity in our Classroom - Where do Australians come from?

Here is the graph our Year Three class created in SOSE today. It represents the diversity we discovered in our own classroom. Would anyone like to comment on what we found?
